What To Expect
The Agenda (9th June 2026)
Upon arrival, attendees can check in at the registration desk before helping themselves to a morning spread of croissants, muffins, savoury twists, fruit, biscuits and crisps with vegan and gluten-free granola options available. Hot coffees, teas, and cold refreshments will be provided, including herbal teas and alternative milks kindly sponsored by GBS. You can then begin your Super Connect Networking through:
- Super Support Expo: We will be joined by Inspire People, the OVHcloud Startup Program, GBS, NIHR HealthTech Research Centre for Accelerated Surgical Care, Bruntwood SciTech, Global Good
- Super Connect Networking*: The Super Connect team at Empact Ventures will super connect attendees who register, opt-in and check-in in person on the day with 5 potential partners, clients, funders, business support or collaborators (in addition to your own networking)

- During the Event (by email): You’ll be super connected with exhibitors, pitchers, speakers or panellists you and they’ve arrived based on your preferences
- During the Event (in-person) – Attendees will be able to consult the Lead Super Connector, Kosta Mavroulakis (CEO, Empact Ventures), to make warm introductions in person (if in attendance) to other attendees, speakers or exhibitors
- During the Event (Super Connect Wall) – Attendees will be able to view the photos of all speakers, exhibitors, partners and attendees opted-in registrants to find them in the event or consult Kosta to introduce them where possible
- After the Event: We may also super-connect you to a wider network of partners, clients, funders, collaborators, or business support based on your registration form up to 8 weeks after the event, subject to capacity

Local industry leaders and talent experts will confront the sharpest friction points facing startups and scale-ups today—from the fierce battle for rare, multi-disciplinary talent that bridges deep clinical insight with regulatory and AI expertise, to the authentic drivers behind candidate retention and workplace wellbeing. Moving beyond generic corporate diversity pledges, the discussion will dissect what genuine startup cultural alignment looks like in practice, expose the hidden barriers to entry for candidates, and critically evaluate whether Manchester’s talent pipeline is expanding fast enough to sustain its ambition as a world-class health innovation hub.

Chaired by Andrea Winders of iNVEST Manchester, this panel brings together investment leaders from across the funding lifecycle to map out the current realities of capitalisation. Attendees will gain an unvarnished playbook on how to navigate the funding escalator. This session will help founders bypass the “funding loop” and learn exactly how to align their business runway with investor expectations.

Manchester in Action: Collaboration across Research, Innovation and Care

This event, delivered in partnership between Manchester University NHS FT (MFT) with the NHS Alliance, will offer insight into how national NHS ambitions are being delivered on the ground. The afternoon will bring together NHS, life science and innovation leaders to explore shared priorities emerging from the 10 Year Health Plan and the Life Sciences Sector Plan, while also highlighting how MFT and the wider Manchester ecosystem are advancing research, innovation, and collaboration at scale.
We’ll kick things off with a relaxed networking lunch, followed by a series of short talks and a showcase carousel highlighting opportunities across data, genomics and robotics, to name a few.
