The following agenda will be followed at each of the three events with different speakers in each event, and please use the colapse / expand options to view more details:

Each event will involve a series of keynote speeches, panel discussions, pitch sessions, interactive roundtable discussions, careers fairs and super connect networking sessions involving stakeholders from across the healthcare, education, industry, startup and non-profit sectors.  All sessions will include Q & A providing attendees with opportunities to get involved including the interactive workshops focused on the following topics that you can register to participate in on your registration.

A welcome address will be given with a short introduction to Empact Ventures, how the event is structured and important safety messages (E.g. emergency exists, fire alarms etc) and new opportunities

A welcome and introduction will be provided by our event delivery partners with introductions to the Interactive Roundtable Themes in the afternoon as indicated in brackets to help you select which to join

    • Vee Mapunde, Co-Director of the National Institute for Health and Care Research HealthTech Research Centre for Accelerated Surgical Care will provide an introduction to the NIHR, its programmes, and the support available for attendees (plus an introduction to the ‘Addressing Health Inequalities’ theme)
    • Madhur Srivastava, CEO, DocHQ will provide an introduction to its AI and Computer Vision work in the healthcare, fitness and wellness, and insurance sectors (plus an introduction to the ‘Musculoskeletal Health – MSK’ theme)

This will be followed by an introduction to our host and supporting partners:

    • Dr David Bozward, Director of Entrepreneurship & Employability, GBS will provide an introduction to the institution, its courses, programmes and opportunities (plus an introduction to the ‘Skills, Training & Capacity Building in Healthcare’ theme)
    •  
    • Con Franklin, Director, Rosely Group will outline its work in the healthcare sector and the support for healthcare organisations through Rosely Group, SMEs through its Start PR firm and startups/scaleups through Briefly (plus an introduction to the ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’ theme)

Note: An introduction to the Sustainability in Healthcare theme will also be given by Kosta Mavroulakis (CEO, Empact Ventures)

Karen is Chief Medical Officer with Deloitte UK and a partner in the health strategy team in the UK and leads the global Deloitte Clinical Network. Aside from her clinical work as a GP she was previously the Dorset ICS clinical lead, National Senior Clinical Advisor for Systems Development, Population Health Management and Primary Care Transformation with NHSE. She works across the NHS to support health systems to improve and transform care delivery, with a focus on future trends and technology.

 

Dr David Bozward (Director of Entrepreneurship and Employability, GBS) will chair a roundtable discussion at each of the events featuring:

Breakout Session 1: Building Capacity in HealthTech through training and educational opportunities

What are the key skill gaps in the HealthTech industry, and how can training programmes be designed to address these effectively?
How can we ensure that educational opportunities in HealthTech remain accessible and relevant to diverse groups?
What role do partnerships between educational institutions and HealthTech companies play in building capacity, and how can these collaborations be strengthened?
With the rapid evolution of technology, what strategies can educational providers adopt to keep curriculum and training programmes up-to-date and industry-relevant?

Breakout Session 2: Mental Health and Wellbeing

With jobs in technology and the knowledge economy becoming more intense and requiring longer hours, should the level of mental health support offered to employees of a business increase?
If so, what should the key focus areas be?
How can businesses be encouraged to invest further in mental health? What would incentivise these businesses?
What is your individual experience of providing or receiving mental health support in the workplace?

Breakout Session 3: Health Inequalities (Chaired by NIHR)

Breakout Session 4:  The Role of AI in MSK to support preventative and elderly care (Chaired by DocHQ)

What are the challenges that are being faced for MSK in NHS and Care sector?
How can deliver new AI tools like DocHQ within these sectors?
How can we roll out MSK AI solutions more effectively to engage NHS trusts and integrated care boards?
How can companies ensure their AI product addresses health equity?

Breakout Session 5:  Sustainability in Healthcare (Chaired by Solventum – formerly 3M Health Carea)

what opportunities do you think there are to positively impact on Net Zero and Health Inequalities and/or MSK and/or Mental Health?
What are some of the emerging opportunities for integrating AI into delivery in order to benefit Net Zero?
What are the barriers / challenges to Net Zero and how does Training, Skills and Capacity Building help address this?

At each event, we will be joined by 2 speakers who will do a quick 10-minute workshop on the following topics followed by 5 minutes of Q & A to help attendees understand their innovation funding options for their HealthTech ventures or projects covering:
