The Agenda
The following agenda will be followed at each of the three events with different speakers in each event, and please use the colapse / expand options to view more details:
Each event will involve a series of keynote speeches, panel discussions, pitch sessions, interactive roundtable discussions, careers fairs and super connect networking sessions involving stakeholders from across the healthcare, education, industry, startup and non-profit sectors. All sessions will include Q & A providing attendees with opportunities to get involved including the interactive workshops focused on the following topics that you can register to participate in on your registration.
Upon arrival, attendees can check in at the registration desk before choosing from a selection of tea, coffee and pastries kindly provided by GBS and getting involved in:
- Super Connect Support*: The Super Connect team at Empact Ventures will super connect attendees with potential partners, clients, funders, business support or collaborators through the following:

- Upon Arrival: Those who registered, opted in to be super connected and check-in as attendees on the day will receive 3 introductions by email to the wider Super Connect Network based on the information provided on the registration form

- During the Event (Super Connector Support) – Attendees will be able to consult the Empact Ventures team to make a warm in-person introduction to speakers, partners, and exhibitors that they’d like to meet based on their broad needs

- During the Event (Super Connect Wall) – Attendees will be able to view the photos of all speakers, exhibitors, partners and opted-in registrants will support them in finding them in the event

- After the Event: Attendees will receive 3 more super connections to potential partners, clients, funders, collaborators or business support based on their original registration or in-event Super Connect form via the Super Connect Wall
- Careers and Business Support Expo: to enable attendees to connect with potential employers from small to large organisations to explore new employment or internship opportunities with a selection of business support organisations providing advice to aspiring or existing startups, scaleups and SMEs

A welcome address will be given with a short introduction to Empact Ventures, how the event is structured and important safety messages (E.g. emergency exists, fire alarms etc) and new opportunities
A welcome and introduction will be provided by our event:

The session will discuss the opportunities and concerns about what is happening in these areas in the UK, the NHS and PPIE and it will be hosted by Madhur Srivastava (CEO, DocHQ) with a fireside chat guest in each city to be announced
Con Franklin (CEO, Rosely Group) will chair a roundtable discussion in each of the 3 events with 4 panellists including innovation leaders at NHS trusts, business leaders in health insurance firms, leading tech giants and SMEs to discuss this topic followed by Q & A with the audience

A keynote speaker in each of the 3 events will be announced and will cover this topic (more details coming soon)
Attendees will be able to register to join one of five roundtables in each of the events on the following topics as part of their registration that will provide an opportunity to connect with a cross-sector community of practice involved in the event’s theses with a nominee summarising their thoughts to share with the audience at the end:
- Sustainability in Healthcare (Chaired by: Empact Ventures)
- Health Inequalities (Chaired by NIHR)
- MSK (Chaired by DocHQ)
- Training, Skills and Capacity Building (Chaired by GBS)
- Mental Health and Wellbeing (Chaired by Rosely Group)
At each event, we will be joined by 2 speakers who will do a quick 10-minute workshop on the following topics followed by 5 minutes of Q & A to help attendees understand their innovation funding options for their HealthTech ventures or projects:
- Grant Funding
- Alternative Finance options (e.g. debt, R & D Tax Credit Claims, Patent Box Relief, IP Leveraged Funding
- Investment
The first two topics will be delivered in each event by Sandy Finley (Partnerships Director, Visiativ UK) and the third topic will be delivered by an investment firm with Leeds so far confirmed (Emma Cassidy, Investment Executive, DSW Ventures) and two new speakers to be confirmed
